Job Description
- Operates mix tanks, milling equipment, agitators, and other pumps as directed by supervisor. Operates all instruments in production room.
- Properly uses all plant utilities, including steam, cooling water, chilled water, air, and nitrogen. Initiates plant startup/shutdown by starting/shutting down boilers, cooling tower, or other equipment as directed by the shift supervisor
- Abides by all safety rules. Understands and uses the handling and safety procedures for all raw materials and finished goods, specifically acids, bases, and corrosives. Ensures the use of appropriate proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Uses detailed procedures to manufacture safe and quality products. Weighs out quantities of raw materials and pours and/or pumps materials into vessels. Monitors and controls blending processes. Properly documents all activities by initialing and dating completed procedures.
- Performs tasks associated with GMP (God Manufacturing Practice) as trained.
- Make adjustments to batches per laboratory instructions.
- Inspects and packs product according to work instructions.
- Loads/unloads/transfers bulk materials per supervisor instructions.
- Operates a lift truck or pallet jack to move incoming and/or outgoing shipment(s) as required.
- Compares labeling information, counts and weigh items for outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records as required.
- Takes corrective actions when an alarm condition exists. Takes actions necessary in an emergency situation to help minimize danger to personnel and to the environment.
- Assist in promoting facility food safety awareness and food quality responsibilities by communicating, managing and enforcing all protocol requirements for the department are met to maintain/achieve certification. This includes ensuring all required training has been completed and all job functions related to food safety/quality has been verified and validated per requirements.
- Performs tasks associated with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) as trained.

Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics and their applications (mathematics).
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance (mechanical).
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods (production and processing).
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
- The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position (arm-hand steadiness).
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
