Job Description
Purpose of the Job
- Responsible for daily plant receiving and shipping activities. ensuring timely movements of material between the plant and warehouse. Records transactions, in ERP system and maintains additional records as necessary
- Works under the Receiving Supervisor, and in conjunction with Production personnel, Warehousing and site purchasing staff. Processes receipts of purchased materials in ERP system. Completes and maintains all associated receiving paperwork. Labels, stages, stores, and deliver’s material to the requisitioner. Assists with invoice follow ups and accounting when needed.
- Interacts with all other site personnel, trucking carriers, vendors, UPS/FEDEX, couriers as required
Job Tasks and Business Decision
- Responsible for storing, moving, shipping and handling both hazardous and non-hazardous materials using powered and non-powered material handling devices.
- Completes daily receiving transactions for both direct and indirect (MRO) purchases using ERP systems. Works with site buyers and others as required. Assists with invoice follow ups when needed.
- Loads bulk chemical tankers for shipment. Unloads Bulk chemical tankers into storage tanks, or other packaging as required. Operates yard tractors and switchers.
- Unloads non bulk material and completes appropriate receiving documents and other system transactions
- Re-packages material as directed to meet sales demand.
- Samples material to QC lab to ensure product quality.
- Conducts cycle counts.
- Trained in applicable regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with standards.
- Maintains clean work areas and ensures that good housekeeping and storage practices are followed.
- Conduct routine checks of material handling equipment and work area, ensuring that equipment is in good working order and good housekeeping practices are being followed.
- Monitoring on site services to improve working conditions.
