COURSE OVERVIEW

Abstract

Wool is a versatile and valuable natural fiber that has played a significant role in human history, particularly in the context of the clothing industry. The way from animal hair to the finished textile involves many different process steps.

In lessons 1 and 2, we discuss different steps of pretreatment and machine finishing, apart from dyeing. In Lesson 3, the chemical finishing of wool will be discussed.

The first lesson covers:

  • Chemistry and physical structure of wool
  • Wool processing route

In the second lesson, we will talk about:

  • Wet treatment
  • Dry Finishing

In the third lesson, we will discuss the chemical finishing of wool:

  • Anti-felt Finish
  • Anti-pilling Finish

In the fourth lesson, we focus on the topic of chemical finishing of wool with Evo Lan WAT.

In our final lesson, we will wrap up with further finishing applications for wool.
